"Leather"
The main tanneries producing garment leather for brands such as Loro Piana, Hermès, Zegna, Zilli and Brunello Cucinelli include Carisma S.p.A., Bonaudo S.p.A., Dolmen S.p.A., Curtidos Riba Guixà S.L.U. and Sanlorenzo S.p.A.

"Togo"
Tannerie Rémy Carriat SAS, based in Espelette, France, produces a leather called Lagun. Clemence is a name given by Hermès for the Lagun leather. The tannery offers stock service and low minimum order quantities for custom colours (16 sqm).
The leathers used for the Shoulder Bag share a base with Clémence, but the hides are selected more carefully to showcase their natural grain.
The black leather has a semi-aniline finish, while the dark brown leather has an aniline finish. Both articles, Softy and Socoa, are more exclusive than Clémence/Lagun. The treatment is more delicate and the grain is natural, not debossed.
These leathers are made from taurillon, (young bull) hides from Europe.
Hermès Togo is a different calf leather made by Weinheimer Leder GmbH in Germany. The article is also known as shrunken calf leather from Germany.
"Calf suede"
Tanneries that supply some of the finest suede include Bonaudo S.p.A., Carisma S.p.A., Dolmen S.p.A., Bello S.p.A., Sciarada Industria Conciaria S.p.A. (discontinued), and Mégisserie Alric SAS (discontinued).
I prefer the finest calf suede for its rich color, fine nap, and beautiful writing effect.
In my experience, it also attracts less dust and looks more premium than goat or lamb suede, although Entrefino lamb suede is excellent too. These are my personal opinions.
"Shearling"
Sanlorenzo S.p.A. supplies some of the highest-quality shearling to leading luxury brands, including Hermès, Tom Ford, and Berluti.
They offer beautiful Merino, Lacaune, and Toscana shearling.
We are working with both Italian and French Lacaune shearling for our shearling jackets, which is considered the most premium shearling. It is lighter and softer.
