What Most Don’t See (A Friend’s Perspective)

Le Connaisseur started as a one-man operation led by Peter Taube, born in Paris in 1990. The brand is a result of his genuine interest in materials and production processes. Peter’s experience in the fashion industry dates back to 2011. He has founded numerous successful companies, mainly for women. However, his passion for exceptional menswear has been there since the beginning of his career.

His motivation was never fashion itself. It lies in the details, the touch, and the understanding of the difference between good and excellent. That is why Taube personally visits all his suppliers, attends trade shows, and constantly gains valuable experience in his field.

What you are seeing is the result of several years of development. Taube worked on these products for years without releasing them to the public. While his other successful projects demanded most of his attention, he continued to spend business trips, evenings, and weekends developing samples and garments for himself and his circle of friends.

As a close friend of Taube, I am glad he finally decided to share this passion project with the public. I received my first Baby Cashmere Sweater in 2019, and ever since, I have been waiting for this moment. In the meantime, I have been fortunate enough to hear his ideas and visit some of his partners. Experiencing his passion and dedication up close is truly inspiring. It becomes especially clear when you hear Peter speak about fabrics and his new product ideas for the future.
